These are essential and need to be checked at the start and end of every shift. Workers need to remain highly observant for missing parts or strange noises when doing these checks.
Regular checks
Daily checks should be carried out ensuring all components, guards, and fasteners are present and working correctly.
Weekly checks that are more detailed should also be carried out to ensure the equipment is running at maximum efficiency, making sure to check all pneumatic equipment for air leaks and photoelectric sensors.
Keeping spares on site
Some parts may never need replacing but also if a part stops at the worst possible time, having spares to hand can avoid costly downtime and keep operations running. If the failed parts are not replaced as quickly as possible then the rest of the system will become affected causing more issues.
