BeerX UK is the UK’s biggest beer and brewing trade event that included a schedule of seminars, talks and debates from the beer industry’s leading people. The main event was a huge industry trade show that we were a part of.
Asmech Systems Ltd work with a whole host of industries including beverages and food. The food and drink industry is the UK’s largest manufacturing sector, and forms part of a diverse and complex supply chain.

The beer industry revenue expected to increase 14.9% in 2021 as pandemic-related regulations eased and the global economy begins to recover.
The Global Beer Manufacturing industry has experienced major shifts in structure over the five years to 2021 as industry revenue has struggled amid major headwinds. Unfavourable trends in consumption habits of major markets have hurt the bulk of the industry as demand weakened. As a result, the expansion of emerging markets and consolidation activity have become the key sources of new sales growth for the industry’s most established companies. Increased consolidation activity has driven a higher market share concentration at the same time as the growth of the craft beer segment has fomented a major influx of operators into the global industry.
Food and drink manufacturing contributes more to the economy than all other manufacturing sectors, including automotive and aerospace.
Revenue for the Global Beer Manufacturing industry declined 12.7% in 2020 due to the poor economy and supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
Food and drink manufacturers directly employ over 468,000 people across every region and nation of the UK, an increase of 3.4% from 2020.
Growth
Figures show that food and drink manufacturing contributed £28bn to the UK economy, growing by 3.4% on the previous year. The industry now has a turnover of more than £105bn, accounting for 20% of the total UK manufacturing.
The importance of the industry goes beyond that of turnover however. Food and drink manufacturing is a key part of the food and drink supply chain.
Exports are a key contribution to the overall industry growth, going to over 220 countries worldwide, with Ireland, the US and France as the top three destination markets.
