Asmech Systems were proud to support the Rotary Club of Mansfield 27th Courage Award Luncheon at Portland College, Mansfield on Tuesday 6th March 2018.
Shane Gunstone (Managing Director) said, ‘This is such an inspiring event, that as always I was very proud to attend; it is all very humbling, and Asmech are privileged to sponsor the table in support of such a courageous young lady Ella Kennell’.
Ella, from Meden School, has been described as a ‘true inspiration’ to all around her; for the way she refuses to let her disability hold her back.
The 11-year old has cerebral palsy and as a result has physical difficulties which make day to day tasks a challenge. However she does not let this phase her and tries as much as possible to live an active life, pushing herself to do everything the other students do.
Ella, who has a twin brother Lewis, tackles challenges head on – and usually finds success.
Kim Hickinbottom, head of year 7 and associate school leader, who nominated Ella, has said “She works so hard in her lessons and always has a smile on her face. Ella is the epitome of the school motto ‘work hard, be kind’ and always goes above and beyond to help others.” “We are so proud of how courageous she is on a daily basis, making tasks she finds difficult look simple’
